[So, Heero has been back for a few days, and it's sort of not really occurred to him that he hasn't actually formally announced this to anyone. He may have graduated, but he is still not exactly a totally functional human being in the traditional sense.

He switches on the video feed, and those who are familiar with him may notice he seems a little older, but otherwise seems much the same. Also he's alive! And a warden now! So those are pluses.]

My door handle broke, and the toolkit I've got with me doesn't have an appropriate screwdriver to put it back together. Does anyone have one I could borrow?

[Pause. Realization that that was a weird ass way of announcing to everyone that he was back.] For anyone interested, I've decided to come back as a warden. The situation at home has resolved itself.

When I first got here, many people assumed because I was a soldier that I was here because I was fighting on the wrong side, and I needed to learn that my methods were wrong or that I was fighting for a cause that didn't need to be fought for. They were wrong.

I was here as an inmate because I let myself get so caught up in the mistakes I'd made that I lost sight of what we were actually fighting for, and wanted to throw my life away at any opportunity instead of caring about what we were trying to accomplish. I'm leaving to finish what was started because I know it's the right thing to do.

I may be back, if given the opportunity. But I can't spend any more time here acting like I don't have anywhere else to go.

I don't usually talk about myself because I've been trained to keep everything private, and to not get close to other people. Friendships and allies are connections I shouldn't need to get my job done correctly.

But I miss Cooper and I don't know how to handle that. I've never had an adult actually care about me like that before outside of being a weapon or a soldier to train. I think Odin cared, but he didn't show it the way most of you would expect a parent to. Cooper knew what I was capable of, but he still looked out for me.

I feel like the Barge is wearing away walls I need to do my job correctly, if I ever went home. But I actually don't really give a damn about what I did. I regret some of the deaths my orders were responsible for, but the cause wasn't really mine to fight for. I just followed orders because I don't know how to do anything else. I know I was fighting for the right side, I just don't care about the outcome of the war itself.

Also I think you're all ridiculous for assuming that just because I'm a teenager that I'm not particularly capable or dangerous. I'm probably responsible for more deaths than most of you.

I've spoken about pacifism at great length here. That it can be achieved and upheld, but now I'm beginning to think I was wrong.

A while ago, I asked if humanity had made contact with aliens by the time period of others on the Barge. It seemed like most people had at least sent people into space. We've set up space colonies orbiting Earth, but we haven't made first contact with any alien lifeforms yet. Space travel isn't necessarily uncommon, but only politicians and military officials frequently travel between Earth and the Colonies.

What's considered normal technology for your world? Is commercial space travel available?

[It's taken some effort, but Heero has managed to get his paws on his communicator and turned the video feed on. He's an African Blackfooted Cat - which are about the same size as/a little smaller than the average house cat. Basically, tiny, adorable little things that will fuck up your shit if you bother it.

His ears flick back for a moment, and generally he looks kind of annoyed by his present situation, but it could have been much worse.]

Olive had explained the concept of Jurassic Park, and now more than ever, Heero hated the fact that he didn't have a gun. Not that one would do much good against one of the larger ones, but against a raptor, if he was fast enough, he could have a chance.

Of course, there was always the option of throwing himself in front of one to protect Olive, but that would only buy her so much time, and she'd sort of proved already that she had no idea how to survive by herself.

So far, they'd been lucky. The only dinosaurs they'd encountered were small or ignored them entirely, and as night was falling on the first day, they'd stopped to make camp. Heero had made sure to check the perimeter for tracks and other signs of the animals and found none, and headed back to see Olive trying to do... something.
