I'd accepted a long time ago that there are some things about this place we'll probably never fully understand based on the science available to us, but it's too bad that even after an incident like that, we still don't understand how this place actually works. Not surprising, but disappointing.

... There are far worse things than being stuck in space for three days.

[Infirmary Filter]

If there's any way I can help in the wake of what happened, I'd like to offer my assistance.

[Private to Una]

Are you alright?

[Private to Olive]

I don't really want to push the issue now that the crisis is over, but I still think you should look into some self defense lessons if you're planning on staying here.

And I want a weapon.

... We probably need to talk about some other things, too.

A while ago, I asked if humanity had made contact with aliens by the time period of others on the Barge. It seemed like most people had at least sent people into space. We've set up space colonies orbiting Earth, but we haven't made first contact with any alien lifeforms yet. Space travel isn't necessarily uncommon, but only politicians and military officials frequently travel between Earth and the Colonies.

What's considered normal technology for your world? Is commercial space travel available?

[Private to Slade]

I'm still interested in sparring, assuming another flood isn't going to hit in the next few hours.

[Filtered from Hoffman, Slick and David, because someone is paranoid.]

[It's taken some effort, but Heero has managed to get his paws on his communicator and turned the video feed on. He's an African Blackfooted Cat - which are about the same size as/a little smaller than the average house cat. Basically, tiny, adorable little things that will fuck up your shit if you bother it.

His ears flick back for a moment, and generally he looks kind of annoyed by his present situation, but it could have been much worse.]

Olive. Where are you?

[Filtered to "People he sort of cares about", but hasn't talked to already:  Cooper, Kay, Una, Brax.]

Are you affected?

[Whoever had come up with a dinosaur theme park was an idiot. Period. End of story. Olive had explained the concept of Jurassic Park, and now more than ever, Heero hated the fact that he didn't have a gun. Not that one would do much good against one of the larger ones, but against a raptor, if he was fast enough, he could have a chance.

Of course, there was always the option of throwing himself in front of one to protect Olive, but that would only buy her so much time, and she'd sort of proved already that she had no idea how to survive by herself.

So far, they'd been lucky. The only dinosaurs they'd encountered were small or ignored them entirely, and as night was falling on the first day, they'd stopped to make camp. Heero had made sure to check the perimeter for tracks and other signs of the animals and found none, and headed back to see Olive trying to do... something.

An eyebrow was raised slightly.]

What are you doing?

[Filtered away from Treize]

[The feed clicks on, but there's a short pause between it and Heero actually speaking.]

In the event that an inmate's crimes and reason for being here aren't obvious, even with the help of a file, how are they ever actually "redeemed"?

[There's a pause like he's going to say something else, but he switches off the feed instead.]

[Private to Ariadne]

Treize is here.

[Private to Cooper]

You spar?

[ooc: Still on hiatus, but Heero couldn't not say anything in response to Treize being here.]

If the Admiral lets us choose to leave the ship for some ports, why do we get such limited warning about being able to disembark?

[Private to Ariadne]

I want to see my file.

[Private to David]

Did your plan work?

[Private to Slade; added later]

I heard you assisted in subduing David during port.

I'm failing to understand the purpose of stopping in port for a "relaxing vacation". I was under the apparently false impression that this wasn't a pleasure cruise.

[Private to Ariadne]

I'm assuming you want to disembark.

Does anyone actually know how off-Barge contact yesterday was made possible? Or is that another Barge secret inmates aren't allowed to know about until they have a warden to check in with first?
