I'm failing to understand the purpose of stopping in port for a "relaxing vacation". I was under the apparently false impression that this wasn't a pleasure cruise.
[Private to Ariadne]
I'm assuming you want to disembark.
[Private to Ariadne]
I'm assuming you want to disembark.
Private---->Spam?
[How about some derping then port time? Gotta get used to each other's presence before playing survivor.
Ariadne heads to the deck, wearing a t-shirt, shorts, and signature red jacket. She's on the lookout for her teenage inmate.]

So, for the moment, she was an asset, and therefore he was slightly willing to cooperate with her.
He approached fairly casually, in his usual dark shorts, green tank top and work boots. He didn't say anything, just staring at her from under his scruffy bangs, his face pretty expressionless.]

For a moment, she stares at him back. He's a lot smaller than she originally thought. Then again, he's just a kid...well a child soldier if you want to be specific. The blank look on his face is pretty unnerving, but she tries not to be bothered by it. No matter what, Ariadne's going to make sure this port is a fun one.]
Hey, Heero. You ready?

Ariadne feels the warm summer breeze as soon as they disembark. Having lived in the Mid-west and Paris for most of her life, tropical paradises were hard to come by. Eyes full of wonder and curiosity, she looks back at Heero.]
It's something, isn't it?

Personal relationships were not his strong point.
He looked over at the question, maybe a little surprised by it, before going back to staring at the jungle.]
Yeah. Something.
Why would the Admiral send us here? [Meaning: I want instructions and a mission, and we certainly didn't get one for this. Are we seriously on vacation? :|]

You've got to admit, this port is beautiful.
[She shrugs at his question. In all truth, it's on the back of her mind as well. Still, this port doesn't seem like false advertising so far.] You heard his announcement, right? We're here on vacation. [At least she hopes so...]

We should probably find or construct some kind of shelter at least before sundown. And fresh water.
[He almost sounds bored. Really, he's more annoyed that there isn't a bigger task to accomplish here, but if he's just supposed to keep himself and his warden alive for a few days in a new environment, he can do it, no problem.
... This is his definition of vacation.]
Spam!
We should, but let's do some exploring first. [As practical as finding shelter sounds, it also sounds incredibly dull.]
We'll probably find some shelter along the way. [Before Heero can say anything, Ariadne starts heading towards the jungle.]

Have you been to places like this before?

She shakes her head at his question.]
I haven't. [Unless you count dream-scapes...] You?

There was the snap of a twig and Heero immediately tensed, head snapping in the direction of the sound, hand almost instinctively going for his missing gun before he catches himself, still staring for whatever had made the noise.]

Anddd... it's some kind of deer. Nothing Heero recognizes, but it's clearly not a threat, and after coming out of the bushes and staring at the two for a moment, it continues on its way.
Heero slowly relaxes, still staring after the deer. He's quiet for a moment before:]
I need my gun.
Spam!
She inwardly smiles at the thought until she hears his request.]
I don't think that's possible. Just let it go. [Though they need food, she isn't exactly keen on killing the deer.]
Want to go fishing instead?
Spam!
[More like, having a weapon on hand was something akin to having a security blanket. The deer might not pose a threat, but any number of other things could.]
I've never been fishing.
Spam!
[In all truth, she's not comfortable with him holding a gun. It's not because he's an inmate, but rather, someone that young shouldn't know how to use such a deadly weapon.]
I haven't either. Want to try anyway?
Spam!
[He considers the question.] I guess.
[It's not as reluctant as it could be, although most of it is just a front. He's still a little on edge from the deer, and he doesn't want to get snuck up on again.]
Spam!
We should look for a some sort of fresh water pond for now. [Then she pauses for a moment, realizing something.] You said you never fished before, right? So you have no idea how to do it?
Spam!
Not really.

Do you have any fishing wire or anything like that?

[But he is looking around at the jungle for a handy stick or something that could maybe be used as a spear. Or vines that could be used to make a net. Or... really anything.
He misses technology already.] How long do you think we'll be here?
Spam!
[She starts looking around too. After a few minutes, she stumbles upon a fallen branch stuck between the roots of the tree. Despite much effort trying to get it out, the stick won't budge.]
Heero, can you help me get this out?
Spam!
And it sort of occurs to him that he knows next to nothing about her, while she's got a whole file on him.
Something should probably be done about that as soon as they sorted out this food/shelter/"vacation" thing.]
Spam!
Both impressed and slightly envious that someone her height and built had more arm strength than her, she thanks Heero and grabs the stick.]
You should find a stick too. After, we'll sharpen the ends with some rocks.
[After all, that's what they do in the movies...Times like these she wishes that she stuck with Girl Scouts as a kid.]
