I'm failing to understand the purpose of stopping in port for a "relaxing vacation". I was under the apparently false impression that this wasn't a pleasure cruise.

[Private to Ariadne]

I'm assuming you want to disembark.

However long the port lasts. About two days at most.

[She starts looking around too. After a few minutes, she stumbles upon a fallen branch stuck between the roots of the tree. Despite much effort trying to get it out, the stick won't budge.]

Heero, can you help me get this out?

[If there's one thing her arrival at the Barge has taught Ariadne, it's not to share personal information about her life with well...anyone really. She doesn't want to repeat her counterpart's mistakes.

Both impressed and slightly envious that someone her height and built had more arm strength than her, she thanks Heero and grabs the stick.]

You should find a stick too. After, we'll sharpen the ends with some rocks.

[After all, that's what they do in the movies...Times like these she wishes that she stuck with Girl Scouts as a kid.]

Can't hurt to try, right? [Besides, they don't have the materials to make some fancy fishing rod. Being primitive is the way to go for survival situations like this.

Sitting down on the ground, Ariadne motions Heero to sit next to her. After handing him a jagged rock, she takes her own and starts sharpening the edge of her stick to a point. It's sorta like sharpening a huge pencil, though pencils aren't usually used to stab fish.]
