Does anyone actually know how off-Barge contact yesterday was made possible? Or is that another Barge secret inmates aren't allowed to know about until they have a warden to check in with first?

I can't explain it either.

I don't think there's any 'Barge secrets' to my knowledge that the Wardens know and the inmates don't. There's plenty, I've discovered that neither of us know, but if there are, I'll give the answers.

Question asking shouldn't be discouraged. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about this one.

I see. Well, I admit that engine rooms and their statuses aren't my area of expertise.

Have you asked the engine room staff why this is?

What do they think your motives might be?

Who did you discuss this with?

Which is... a possibility to be wary of, I'm sure. It's possibly a danger from anyone on board.

I can ask if there's anything that can be made publicly avaliable, without putting everyone at risk. I don't think questions should go unanswered.

Do you have any way of showing that to them?

I'm sure they have inmates down there, working. Maybe you could volunteer?

How does that make you instantly trustworthy?

I'm told we get information on our inmates. Maybe that's why?

[Frown.]

I'm not entirely sure.

Well, I'd like to think so too.

But, I suppose, if you had someone who'd do the murder as soon as you put them near knives, you might need a warden who knows this to say 'don't let them in the kitchen'? That's the only reason I can think of.
