Does anyone actually know how off-Barge contact yesterday was made possible? Or is that another Barge secret inmates aren't allowed to know about until they have a warden to check in with first?

[Five minutes after Heero's arrival, Eddie rocks up. He is-- naturally-- donned in his Riddler outfit and tapping the cane part of his ensemble against his shoulder as he approaches.]

You're early.

[You better bet he has to look down to properly view teeny tiny Heero. Six foot looming over five foot one. Eddie's always been a fairly tall man, and it makes up for his lack of muscle quite well.]

Eager to get started?

[Eddie's not one to underestimate children, not after the Robin's. Even preteens are capable of breaking your clavicle (which has happened, most unfortunately).]

[He smiles at Heero, turning towards the CES entrance. He has long legs, and long strides, so you better be ready to keep up the pace, kiddo.]

I'll take that as a yes.

We'll start with the Closed Ecological System, if you have no objections?

[Eddie glances over his shoulder, to see if he'll receive a physical or verbal response.]

[It's a shame that Eddie's so adamant about drawing him into a proper exchange. He's not deterred by short replies, as Slade will tell you.]

Lovely.

[Edward unlocks the door with his cane and is rewarded with the gentle pitter-patter of rain. He quickly steps aside to allow Heero entrance.]

Is this a new experience for you, or had your barge the same advanced technology as this one?

[Eddie keeps a close enough eye on Heero to notice little more than his neutrality. He's a very taciturn young man, for reasons Edward almost wishes he could forcefully uncover-- but he shouldn't pry, should he?]

Not exactly?

[Well, that was promising.]

It's a 'system', these environments are either fabricated by the ship itself-- which I wouldn't find at all surprising-- or it's a gateway, and we're temporarily able to trek over small portions of a natural, uninhabited world. Uninhabited by conscious creatures, that is.

[He gesture off towards a bird flying overhead.]

We have plenty of animals here.

[The lack of reference to his own barge was disappointing, but Eddie liked a good mystery. He slipped his hands behind him and as they inched slowly towards the wilderness.]

It's spontaneous.

[He raised a shoulder in a very slight shrug.]

You can close the door on a winter wonderland and open it to a sunny summers day.
