What makes you think that?

The wardens are here for their own personal gain. They don't actually give a shit about us or our morality - and given that no one here is even from my universe I can guarantee that nothing I did before coming here affected any one of them anyways. If anything, they're here to break us as punishment for what we've done.

And, even if they do care, they're trying to basically force us into whatever framework they've decided is correct. They want to take away our choice. And a man that ceases to make his own choices is hardly a man at all.
