The Commonwealth?

A union of planets founded from the Vedran Empire. Different alien worlds joined together with the High Guard as their protectorate force.

They became placid in their later years. Began handing off the systems of their allies to an enemy race, practically rewarding them for slaughter and rape. [Someone is still pissed. Many apologies.]

At one time, though, it was a force to be appreciated before it became weak and complacent.

Is there any resistance?

There was. I was part of the Commonwealth and helped my people dismantle it from within. Besides the Magog, that was the first resistance the Commonwealth encountered in a millennia.

One part. I had a friend. I was supposed to be the best man at his wedding. He was the captain of the ship I served on, and I was his first officer.
