All those old myths and legends about 'people from the stars' and stuff. Romans seeing 'shields in the sky' and what have you.

Basically, some people think aliens came down, tinkered around with ape DNA and that's how human beings got made.

I'm not saying I believe it, but I've messed around with a lot of freaky shit over the years. Let's just say it wouldn't surprise me.

A union of planets founded from the Vedran Empire. Different alien worlds joined together with the High Guard as their protectorate force.

They became placid in their later years. Began handing off the systems of their allies to an enemy race, practically rewarding them for slaughter and rape. [Someone is still pissed. Many apologies.]

At one time, though, it was a force to be appreciated before it became weak and complacent.
