A while ago, I asked if humanity had made contact with aliens by the time period of others on the Barge. It seemed like most people had at least sent people into space. We've set up space colonies orbiting Earth, but we haven't made first contact with any alien lifeforms yet. Space travel isn't necessarily uncommon, but only politicians and military officials frequently travel between Earth and the Colonies.

What's considered normal technology for your world? Is commercial space travel available?

I'm still interested in sparring, assuming another flood isn't going to hit in the next few hours.

In my time and universe, the Humans are one of the Temporal Powers--a loose alliance of time travelling races. People from Earth travel freely, if not always responsibly, across space and time.

My people, of course, have been travelling through time for many millennia now, and are technologically capable of going wherever and whenever they please. Most choose to stay on Gallifrey, however.

They have no reason to leave. On Gallifrey they have...had [oh that verb tense change hits him in the hearts]...safety, security, stability, plentiful resources, all the ingredients for a calm and satisfying thirteen lives. The only people who regularly left the planet were politicians--mainly diplomats--CIA operatives sent out into the universe to protect Gallifrey and the timelines, and criminals.

The was a civil war followed closely by a virus epidemic--a new form of biological warfare constructed by anti-Gallifreyan terrorists. And the futures I've seen reek of more war and possible annihilation.

... [Pause, because Narvin doesn't know how to respond to sorry.]

That's why I'm here. To save my world, make it strong again, and stop that future from happening.
